We guarantee that a regular Hot Yoga practice will profoundly change your life. If you feel nervous, scared or even intimidated, no worries; many people feel that way initially but this will change after your first class. This yoga class was designed especially for beginners and with a little practice and experience you will soon feel right at home.
Be sure to come to class well-hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day. Hydration supports the healthy functioning of your body, and it makes the heat feel sustainable rather than overwhelming.
Choose any class time from our schedule and commit to coming to class as quickly as you can. All classes are the same and are suitable for beginners. We look forward to practicing with you soon. We exclusively offer Hot Beginner's Yoga Class, comprised of twenty-six postures and two breathing exercises. This is a 90 minute, heated class (105 degrees, 40% humidity) suitable for all levels. The class is always led by a Bikram certified instructor.
TIME: New students must arrive 20 minutes before their first class. We will have you fill in a registration form and get you set-up. Reservations are not required. Please let the teacher know about any injuries or special physical circumstances.
HOW TO PREPARE YOURSELF BEFORE CLASS: Come with an empty stomach. Avoid heavy meals before class and try to avoid food 2 hours before class time. Yoga is usually practiced on an empty stomach, but if you prefer you can have some light substenance like fruit or juice.
WHAT TO WEAR: Wear something which you will be comfortable stretching and sweating in. If you don't have yoga clothing, shorts/tank tops, running clothes or swim wear also works. Use light clothing. It is not recommended to wear long pants, baggy, loose and transparent clothes.
WATER: Hydrate well before class by drinking plenty of fluids. Bring bottled water with you. At the studio, we sell bottled water, coconut water, and sports drinks, however, only water is allowed in the yoga room.
BRING: Bring two large towels, a bottle of water (no glass), and a yoga mat. We have lockers but you must bring your own lock. If you forget something, all items are available for sale or rental. Please keep in mind that every student is required to use a mat and towel during the class.
AFTER CLASS: The first 15 - 30 minutes after class is the most crucial time to recover. Take it easy and drink plenty of water. Come back to your next class within 24 - 48 hours. After your first class try practicing seven days in a row and you will have a better understanding of the postures and of amazing benefits of yoga in general.
With a regular practice all body systems improve. The digestive, respiratory, nervous, endocrine and lymphatic systems work in harmony when you are practicing Hot Yoga. Regular practice normalizes your appetite, decreases anxiety and increases your sexual energy. These results help to regulate weight gain and loss, as long as you commit to practicing atleast 3 times per week.
